Rule 1:
Adjectives in Spanish almost always go after the noun
Ejemplo: el libro interesante, la escuela intermedia, unas muchachas honestas, unos amigos simpáticos
EXCEPTION: adjectives of quantity- like numbers and amounts.
Ejemplo: dos alumnos, cinco clases, muchos alumnos, pocas escuelas.

Rule 2:
Adjectives must agree in gender and with the noun they modify or descibre Ejemplo: el muchacho alto, la casa bonita, el profesor estricto

Rule 3:
Adj. must agree in number with the noun they modify-
Ejemplo: las casas bonitas, los perros grandes, unas muchachas ambiciosas, unos amigos buenos

Rule 4
Most adjectives that end in letter -o are masculine and most adjectives that end in letter -a are feminine- el muchacho alto, la muchacha alta.
Adjectives that end in letter -e remain the same, the ending will not change for either gender- el alumno inteligente, la alumna inteligente.

Adjectives that end in an, on, or dor are masc. To make them fem. add letter a.

Rule 6
Adjectives of nationality that end in a consonant, you must add an -a to make it feminine.
Ejemplo: francés/francesa
irlandés/irlandesa
español/española
