GS1 - Objectives don'ts

• Share too many objectives (4 max)
• Make them too long
• Repeat AOs or Awarding Body Objectives
• Forget to match your powerpoint obs to the SOW

GS1 - Objectives Dos

• Start them with a Blooms' verb
• Explain them - especially more challenging ones
• Reflect on them at intervals in the lesson or the end
• Vary the levels and difficulty of them

• Timings
• Styles of AfL for a task (Drawing, writing, presenting)
• Roles and groupings
• Methods of delivery
• Variety of handouts

Stretch and Challenge: Misrepresented

• Called extension activities
• Additional easy/meaningless work
• Involves completing homework
• Not expected by the teachers
• Irregular
• Unclear who should aim for it
• Presented as an after-thought

• Should have some AfL after every extended activity.
