THE ORIGIN OF CHOCOLATE
Came from Central and South America and Mexico
It originated from the cacao tree in Southern Mexico, and it spread to the South

CACAO TREE
It grows cacao pods which contain white fruit with around 40-50 beans
In some countries, the white fruit can be eaten or turned into juice
The tree requires a humid climate and regular rainfall to grow

THE USES OF CHOCOLATE
It was used as a form of currency, religious rituals, and for drinking
It was used by the Mayans from 250-900 AD
Other groups like the Aztecs obtained cacao through trade

HOW TO MAKE THE CHOCOLATE DRINK
First harvest, ferment, and dry the beans
Then roast them and remove the shell
After that, use some of the insides to make a paste containing hot water mixed with other spices
Lastly, pour the mix back and forth between the two containers

He brought them to Spain and was used as medicine and health food

FACTS ABOUT SHATTELL
Their chocolate came from Lima, Peru.
Their cacao beans grow in different areas of the Peruvian Amazon
Specifically, San Martín and Ucayali
It also grows in rainforest areas.

FROM CACAO TO CHOCOLATE
First step: ferment beans (lasts 5-7 days)
Second step: dry beans first then roast them (during roasting crush shell)
Third step: grind and crush nibs from beans to make a mixture and then let mixture rest for about a month
Fourth step: add sugar to add some texture
Fifth step: chocolate goes through conching, (process of refining surface of chocolate)

Make chocolate crumble
Make carmel
Make cocoa nibs
Make black frosting
Make gavottes

Doesn't have cholesterol and fat in it
Also great for solving health issues in body
It can also lower the risk of heart disease and stroke
Chocolate can also reduce your appetite, reduce sunburn, keep your skin healthy, and improve your blood flow.
