PRESENTATION OUTLINE

DAULATPUR SUTARIA TORNADO (1989)

By Arun Chandar

TORNADOES

  • A tornado is formed when warm, moist air and cool, dry air collide. The different airs then start spinning around each other at a rapid speed and forms a tornado.
  • Tornadoes only form on ground and cannot form in the ocean.
  • Tornadoes are large spirals of wind connected from the ground to a cloud, that can cause a huge amount of destruction.
  • Tornadoes can form in such little time as 15 minutes or as long as 1 hour.

FUTURE

  • Although the actual cost of repairing the wreckages is unknown, we do still know that it must have costed a lot.
  • Although this tornado happened nearly 30 years ago, Bangladesh and Dhaka may still need help with rebuilding.
  • Predictions state that it may take up to 30 years after the event for the people affected to fully recover (even eith the help provided).
  • People living in these areas will most likely need to rebuild. Their possessions may also be lost.
