THE BEATITUDES 2021 LENT PROJECT

BLESSED ARE THE POOR IN SPIRIT FOR THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF God

• This beatitude means to share with others and be thankful for what you have.
• God asks us to share with others and be thankful because its the right thing to do.
• During lent we can listen to this beatitude by sharing with others who need it, and being thankful with what we have.

BLESSED ARE THEY WHO MOURN, FOR THEY WILL BE COMFORTED

• This beatitude means to comfort others who need love and comfort after a loss or tragic event.
• God wants us to comfort others because they are in need of love if something bad has happened to them.
• We can listen to this beatitude this Lenten season by being supportive and welcoming to those going through a hard time.

BLESSED ARE THe MEEK FOR THEY WILL INHERIT THE LAND

• This beatitude means to get your ego out of your way in your life.
• God wants us to be true to ourselves and follow only good things that benefit us.
• We can listen to this beatitude during lent by staying true to ourselves and not letting our ego get in the way.

BLESSED ARE THEY WHO HUNGER AND THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, FOR THEY WILL BE SATISFIED

• This beatitude means to be fair to everyone and treat everyone equally.
• God wants us to follow this beatitude by treating everyone equally and with kindness.
• During lent, we can follow this beatitude by treating everyone fairly and with appreciation.

BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL FOR THEY WILL BE SHOWN MERCY

• This beatitude means to be forgiving to those who hurt us and to look for ways to show kindness to others
• God wants us to use this beatitude in our life by not holding grudges on people and forgiving everyone.
• We can follow this beatitude this Lenten season by forgiving everyone who is unkind and rude towards us.

BLESSED ARE THE CLEAN OF HEART, FOR THEY WILL SEE God

• This beatitude means doing the right thing because we know it is the good thing to do.
• God wants us to follow this beatitude by doing the right thing even when nobody is watching.
• We can take action this Lenten season with this beatitude by helping others not for glory but becuase it will help benifit them.

BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS, FOR THEY WILL BE CALLED CHILDREN OF God

• This beatitude means bringing God’s peace into the world, and controlling our behavior so we can see Jesus in us.
• God wants us to follow this beatitude by helping to spread God’s peace and behaving nicely so we can see Jesus in us.
• We can follow this beatitude this Lenten season by spreading peace to others as well as having a good attitude and being respectful.

BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO ARE PERSECUTED FOR THE SAKE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, FOr THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

• This beatitude means to stand up for God and his laws even if you are teased or insulted.
• God wants us to stay in touch with him and keep praying to him even when others dont because he can protect us and keep us safe.
• We can follow this beatitude this Lenten season by staying close with God if others insult us or make fun of us.
