PRESENTATION OUTLINE
WILL DR. PEPPER KEEP FLOWERS FRESH?
If Dr Pepper is given to flowers, then flowers will stay fresh longer, because the sugar will give the flowers nutrients.
Untitled Slide
- 2 vases
- A bottle of Dr Pepper
- A camera
- A ruler
- Sunlight
- Water
Untitled Slide
- Put the same types of flowers into 2 of the same vases.
- Create 2 equal groups containing the same amount of flowers in each vase.
- Pour 400 ml into each vase, one with Dr Pepper and the other with water.
- Make sure they obtain the same amount of sunlight.
Untitled Slide
- Check flowers at 9:00 pm every night for 7 days.
- Take pictures daily of each group.
- Record any change of color in the flowers.
- Count the number petals fell off.
Untitled Slide
- Measure length of each stem every night from the bottom to the part where it droops.
- Smell each flower every night with nose 10 cm away from the flower for three seconds.
- Average the length of the stem each group every night
Independent variable = the Dr Pepper.
Dependent variable = Freshness of the flower.
The control group is the group with water.
The experimental group is the group that contains Dr. Pepper.
The controlled variables are, vases, amount of liquid, sunlight.
The flowers flipped.
And most of the time each day the average droopiness went down by a centimeter each day.
The data did support my hypothesis, because I said that the Dr Pepper would give the flower nutrients because of the sugar so that it would give the flower nutrients.
