Geography:
There are many beautiful mountain ranges including the Appalachian range and the Taconic range! Also there is 618 miles of beautiful shoreline.

Religion:
The original colonists were Puritan. The Puritans in Great Britain were often targeted by the English authorities, forcing them to flee from Great Britain and come to the Colonies.
Most of the Puritans settled in Connecticut.

Economy:
They used to trade handmade items and fur from animals to make money. They also fished and sell tobacco! And the best of all;
they made maple syrup!

About the founder:
Thomas Hooker was born on July 5 1586 in Leicestershire England to a protestant family. Protestants were christian.
He attended Cambridge University and there he became Puritan. Soon he had to flee because the British were targeting Puritans.

  • Connecticut's national song is Yankee Doodle.
  • Connecticut's state insect is the Praying Mantis.

This is the Connecticut seal. It looks a little different than the original 1639 version. It was brought from England by Colonel George Fenwick
