INVENTOR OF CASH REGISTER BY CARSON

James Ritty was a owner of a saloon until one day...he was on a boat ride and he saw something very interesting. It was a machine that counted how many times the propellers went around. That is where he got his idea.

Mr Ritty was born on October 29,1836. Him and his brother worked together to build it. It took them three tries and all that hard work he patented his cash register in 1 YEAR!

When he build it he made a factory to manufacture his product. His factory quickly closed after he opened it.

James soon went into the bar business but soon retired. When Mr Ritty patented his invention he called it "Ritty's incorruptible cashier".

In 1895 Mr Ritty retired and died on March 29, 1918 of heart trouble. He was very famous because now people aren't stealing any of owners money!

HOW HE WORKED

Mr Ritty lived in Dayton OH. He died in Dayton OH. It's kinda weird because he died in a arcade!
