WHAT DOSE IMPERIALISM MEAN?

  • Definition: a policy of extending a country's power and influence through diplomacy or military force.
  • Throughout history countries have used imperialism efficiently and inefficiently: for example, during the time period of the late 1800's and early 1900's England was facing a time of imperialism and had taken over many foreign countries.

  • As well as it made the country more modernize overall

GOOD OR BAD...?

  • Although, some might think that imperialism is bad, people tend to say it effects the natives in a way they would not want to be treated.
  • Thought that may be true in some ways most natives would disagree and say it has lead their country on the right direction...for example, Dadabhai Naoroji, first Indian elected to the British Parliament, made this speech in 1871 on how Britain has effected India greatly,
