We use this convention in our music video because it is a very common that most music videos will include. When the music and the beats speed up the shots will speed up.
We wanted to have a clear storyline to our video and we thought including lip syncing would help the audience tell who the song was written for and about. We took inspiration from Busted, The script and Green day themselves as in their music videos they include this conevention.
We wanted a narrative again to make our video easy to understand. We will involve some performance because our main protagonist is lip syncing as well as acting and his band come in at the chorus.
We will have an amplify music video because the meaning and lyrics of the song are exaggerated by the visuals. We will base certain shots on what the lyrics are saying.
Steve Neale's theory is that genre is recognisable but it does change over time or borrows from other genres. Genre is important because it helps institutions market texts.
Our video will be formulaic because most main stream videos are like that in the charts. A predictable and formulaic video draws in more audience and is easy to sell so we knew that the formula of ours would work.
