Population pyramids used to determine how many males/females (people) are in a country over various ages.

HOW TO USE A POPULATION PYRAMID.
- First look at the graph.
- From bottom to top, the age increases from younger to older
- Now look at differnt ages, and the line that extends from each of them.
- This line determines how many people are in that selected age group.
- The farther the line extends, the larger number of people that are in that group.

- Now look and determine how many people are in each group
- Notice how the line goes in 2 different directions?
- The left side determines # of males, and right is # of females
- Now use all this information to target and read population puramids
- *note- keys may vary throughout population pyramids

- This chart has more men, because there are more men in the Army
- Little to none elderly people- they wont be in the army
- Most men are 25- young men pursue a carrer in the army
UK POPULATION PYRAMID
- Low number of people in 90-100;above life expactancy
- Number of males and females are about equal, no descrimination to sex
- Number of childs is average- no birth laws in place

- Women live a little longer
- Not many young people
- Most men live between 65-69 years

- Not many old people
- Lots of young people under 10
- Men live a little longer than women

- In michigan amy people are below the age 60-64
- Most people are between 20-24 years of age
- There are more women 90+ than men in michigan

- The population is mostly below 20-24 years old
- Very few like 100 or less are above 80 years of age
- Most of there popultion is below the age of 5 years old

- Have more elderly than young
- few young from one child policy in the 60s and 70s
- Selective abortion of female fetuses; more males
- Tried to slow down their population growth
ARGENTINA POPULATION PYRAMID
- More elderly women than men
- More childern than aduluts
- Mor male births than female
- No selective abortion
