  • Eiffel Tower is 1,063 tall
  • It was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution
  • Small copies of the Eiffel Tower are in different parts of the world.
  • The louvre is one of the worlds largest museums.
  • The Mona Lisa is there. It would take 100 days to see everything for 30 seconds.

  • The first gladiatorial fight was staged in 264AD in the colosseum.
  • The people of Rome wanted a bigger and bolder spectacle.
  • The colosseum gives the gladiators a permanent killing field.

  • The southern side of the Colosseum collapsed in a massive earthquake in 847.

DAY 6 NICE, FRANCE

  • Nice is the fifth most populous city in France.
  • The city is called "Nice la Belle" which means nice the beautiful.
  • Most beaches in Nice aren't sandy, but rocky.
  • Nice has numerous museums to visit.
  • The seafront is lined with hotels for over 3 miles.

  • Up until the 19th century, Cannes was just a quiet fishing village.
  • the lively town center overflowing with boutiques.
  • The Festival International du Film was supposed to begin in Cannes in 1939.
  • Cannes is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious film festivals.
  • The most prestigious award given out at Cannes is the Palme d'Or ("Golden Palm") for the best film.
