TRANSPIRATION

  • Is the process of water movement that goes through a plant and evaporates the aerial part
  • Has a flow of liquid from the roots to leaves but is driven by capillary action
  • but is also driven by water potential differences

RUNOFF

  • Is a type of water that flows over the earths surface.
  • It can also pick up contaminates but fertilizers.

INFILTRATION

  • Is the process of which the water enters the soil in the ground
  • If the precipitation rate exceeds then runoff will occur unless there is some barrier

GROUNDWATER

  • Is water that is located beneath the surface and soil pore
  • And the movement of groundwater is called hydrology.
  • Can also provide soil moisture and permafrost for a permeaility bedrock.
