After the French & Indian war, the colonists met in Philidalphia and formally declared independence.

Natural Rights are the rights people are born with, in the Declaration of Independence in says "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

The concept of Popular Sovereignty is when the people rules the government.The Declaration of Independence says "Governments are instituted among men".

Social Contract is when the government over throw us, we would be able to control them. In the Declaration of Independence says "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it".

I don't really think we uphold theses basic principals because, for one example, in the Declaration, when it says that when the country isn't at war with another country, they are allies, which isn't true. I would have signed it because it makes solving problems with other countries and stuff easier.
