WEEK 1 INTRODUCTION
My Background
Hello, my name is Thien Duong.
I am a graduate student at SMUMN with an estimated graduation date of May 2020.
I moved to Minnesota three years ago and am currently living in Roseville, MN.
My Interests
I love the spring, summer, and fall here because it is not too cold or too hot; the weather is perfect for outdoor activities such as grilling steaks.
My favorite season is the fall and I love to hike during the fall when the leaves turn color.
I like to grow plants indoors and have fresh produce right in my kitchen. I use hydroponics for most of my vegetables. I use soil for bigger plants such as pepper plants.
Governmental & Not-for-Profit Knowledge
I have very little knowledge in Governmental & Not-for-Profit Accounting, but I am interested in developing my knowledge of it for the CPA Exam and possibly a future position in the government.
Currently I am taking both online courses at SMUMN and online Wiley CPA courses to prepare myself for the exam.
My goal is to have a CPA license within two years of my graduation and I would love to work for the State or Federal government one day if there is an opening for an accountant.
