• Concert Band
• Wind Ensemble
• Symphonic Band
• Percussion Class
• Color guard? - maybe!

All members are assigned to one of those classes as their PRIMARY band class based on their musical development.

Auditions matter!

SECONDARY BAND CLASSES

• Must be in a primary band or orchestra class to be eligible
• Jazz Ensembles
• Full Orchestra
• Instrumental Techniques

Zero - Hour Career Research

- Before School (7:45 - 8:30)
- First Semester Only
- All Band (few orchestra)

-Allows for one extra elective freshman year

MARCHING COMMODORES

Membership

Full Member:
- Assigned Primary Spot in Show

Reserve Member:
- Has an alternate spot in show
- May replace a member removed from show

FULL AND RESERVE MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALL REHEARSALS

(Brass and Woodwinds)

Friday's - Color Guard

All students should attend if not on vacation

• Conflicts (pre-arranged) with other school events

The directors are very reasonable and understanding - especially when we know about conflicts 2 weeks in advance.

Auditions are to make sure you are in the right class for your musical development level.

Students have access in band room for free, but won't spend nearly as much time with it!

Words of Advice

Scheduling - There are a LOT of options at EGHS. Try to have a plan, and I'm here to help.

Remember: Colleges Love Music Students - and not just in their music programs!

Some reasons to do band for all four years:

- Continuity - colleges like to see long-term commitment.
- GPA - last 2 years of band honors credit
- Leadership Development - Good for you and looks great on your resume!
