The Flap-necked Chameleons color lies between a green, yellow, brownish shade. The Chameleon can blend in with almost anything. The only time this species is on the ground is when it is looking for mate. They are mostly seen in 90 degree weather. The tongue of this animal is longer than its self, which is 35-40 centimeters long.

The Flap-necked Chameleon lays 10-20 eggs in the freshest soil they can find. Which the eggs take about 10-12 months to hatch.

Some of these chameleons are found in South Africa. Most of the species is found on the island of Madagascar.

Chameleons have very interesting covered eyelids.
The eyelids make it so there is only a tiny space for the animal to see through. In Greek the word "Chameleon" means "Ground Lion". Chameleons use specialized cells to change color. The specialized cells trigger the outside skin to change its color.
