LAWS AND REGULATIONS

  • NPDES Permit required if CAFO discharges to a water of the U.S.(National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System.)
  • Large CAFOs that land apply manure must meet nutrient planning requirements.(Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation.)

IMPACTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT

  • Green House Gases(GHG).
  • Overgrazing.
  • Compaction.
  • Erosion.
  • Global warming.
  • Food, livestock gives us food to eat.
  • Hides, they create jobs for people who make clothing and numerous other items.

  • President Donald Trump's budget proposal calls for saving $10 million next year by selling wild horses captured throughout the West without the current requirement that buyers guarantee the animals won't be resold for slaughter.
  • This means he is capturing wild horses and selling them to foreign countries and slaughtering them for food for the foreigners.
