We'll be looking at a few different classroom management related questions. For each, please have each person at your table share their answer. (Actually it's not just classroom management, it's a bit more)

You'll only have a short time to discuss each one, so keep your answers concise yet helpful.

How do you start your class off right?

How do you give instructions (and ensure they are understood)?

What do you do when you get frustrated?

Or, how do you keep from getting frustrated?

Your students will test you.

How do you handle a power struggle?

Be sure to give examples if possible. Should be a struggle between teacher and student, but could be about 2 students if needed.

Are there "gray areas" with student behavior? What are they?

Maybe... have you ever apologized to a student?

What are your classroom management needs?

In other words, how do you know you are supported?
This may lead to the legal discussion and/or people making it known that they need more support.

Tricky Legal Issues

More discussion coming soon
All schools are challenged by all kinds of legal implications (that involve parents, students, etc.). Someone from our legal team will be here on March 19 for PD time. We'd like info from you about what legal-related questions you have you would like help with.
