ITALIAN SOCIETY

  • German
  • French
  • Slovene-Italian
  • Albanian-Italian
  • Greek-Italian...........
Off of the World Factbook I had gotten that there are small numbers of German, French, Slovene-Italian, Albanian-Italian, and Greek-Italian. On the slide I did not have enough room to add that Italian is also a ethnic group, according to the World Factbook.

GOVERMENT

I used my Traits of Society notes for ideas about traits. I got some of my information from Reuters. Also I got information from www.telegraph.co.uk

Matteo Renzi(the one on the left) is the head of Italy's government. He is also the Prime Minister of Italy and the Secretary of the Democratic Party.

RELIGON

VALUES & BELIEFS
The main religion in Italy is Roman Catholic. I got that from www.study-in-Italy.com.

EDUCATION

Children in Italy are required to to attend school from age six to sixteen. I got this from life in Italy.
Italy's school system is divided into three parts:
Primary school (scuole elementare)
Lower secondary (scuola media)
Upper secondary (scuola superiore)
I got this from Italy.angloinfo.com

CURRENCY

Off of reidsItaly.com I got that Italy uses euros, what most of Western Europe uses. A euro is worth a little bit more that a U.S dollar.

SPORTS

Did you know soccer is a popular sport in Italy. Italy's national team called Azzurri, because of their blue shirts, have won the World Cup four times. They won the World Cup in 1934, 1938, 1982, and in 2006. They are the 2nd most successful soccer team in the world. I got this from www.mapsofworld.com

Summary
I have learned about culture, while making this presentation, that it is what makes you you. What you believe in, your character traits, and values.
