PEASANTS AND KNIGHTS FACTS

DAILY LIFE (PEASANTS)

  • Peasants woke up early in the morning and worked on the field
  • Peasants walked on foot to get to places
  • They worked with their families outside
  • Peasants had watermills to make bread which they worked at
  • They usually didn't drink water from the mills because it was extremely dangerous

DAILY LIFE (KNIGHTS)

  • Knights usually had enough meat to eat from hunting in the woods
  • They also used the woods to hunt for animals to train for important battles
  • Knights were respected by peasants and citizens

TRAINING AND EDUCATION (PEASANTS)

  • More than half of the peasants had no education
  • Peasants were trained by their fathers to learn to farm
  • The higher class peasants, were trained on how to use a watermill to make bread
  • Watermills were extremely important for peasants because it made bread for them to eat

TRAINING AND EDUCATION (KNIGHTS)

  • Knights had powerful and strong armor made of steel
  • The armor of knights were made of various types of strong items
  • This armor was very hard to get through with a sword ot any weapon

RIGHTS/PRIVILEGES (PEASANTS)

  • Peasants had very little rights
  • They were allowed to go to church and pray
  • If they were disrespectful to higher class people, they could be killed
  • Peasants were treated bad at times

RIGHTS/PRIVILEGES (KNIGHTS)

  • Knights were treated with deep respect
  • They were allowed to kill people if they weren't respected
  • The knights could take wheat and bread from peasants for theirselves
  • Knights had the privilege of working for the king and lords

WHAT THEY ATE (PEASANTS)

  • The main food that peasants ate was bread
  • They ate mainly bread because they could go hunting and had no weapons
  • At some points in time, they received meat from the higher class people but very rarely

WHAT THEY ATE (KNIGHTS)

  • Knights had different varieties of food to choose from
  • They ate bread, meat, vegetables, etc...
  • They went hunting out in the woods for wolves and many other animals

JOBS (PEASANTS)

  • The main job of peasants was to farm
  • They farmed many types of crops
  • Most of this food was to feed their families and themselves
  • They worked at nearby watermills to make grains for bread to eat

JOBS (KNIGHTS)

  • The knight's main job was to fight in battles
  • They also had the obligation of protecting the king
  • Knights were trained every day for battle
  • Knights had to protect tye king's land from invaders
