In addition to having a decent salary, most accountants have the opportunity to improve their position after two years experience

NATIONAL WAGES

HOW TO BECOME ONE

To graduate with an accounting degree, you must complete on average a total of 120 credits with 50 of those credits being accounting related.

These courses usually involve the teaching of how to apply basic math in a work setting, as well as the use of money management computer programs.

QUALIFYING

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

To get into an accounting program you must have a GPA of at least 3.1. After being accepted you will then be faced with a cost of about 30-50 thousand dollars a year.

In terms of financial aid, most campuses offer it in the form of scholarships for exceptional students as well as people with certain ethnic backgrounds.
