Kendrick Lamar grew up with both parents married and lived in the poor streets of Compton. Both his parents worked for fast food so he wasn't wealthy as a kid but he still was happy with his situation
As a teenager and during his childhood he grew up around gang activity but when he was 16 he started to embrace all the things that's been around him like partying, drinking, and hanging around with the bad crowd of people. Until his father sat him down and talked at 16 which changed his life he said " I don't want you to be like me", which motivated him to do better and pursue his career. And he also said when he started seeing things with clarity was a gift from God.
Kendrick Lamar began writing rhymes at the age 13 but didn't take rapping serious until his freshmen year at highschool because he was inspired by 2pac. He also got first signed at the age 16 with T.D.E because he auditioned and freestyled for 2 hours straight and he dropped 4 albums so far.
1. I admire Him because of his music because his songs usually has a theme to it 2. I like that in his songs he changes his voice and doesn't keep it the same 3. He made it out of the hood and didn't get influenced by his surroundings instead he learned from them 4. He comes from where all the greatest rappers come from Compton like Eazy E, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, N.W.A, etc 5. Another reason is because his role models were activist like M.L.K and Malcolm X and 2pac
