THe Lion, the witch and the WArdrobe

(C.S LEWIS) YOUNGJIN CHOI Period 3
Hello, I'm Jin. Today, I will present about LWW.

SUMMARY

Chapter 11 should focus on Edmund's changes in emotions. First, the witch's attitude toward Edmund turned cold. And before she got to the sled, she called a Maugrim, took the fastest wolf and immediately went to the Beaver's house, and ordered everything she saw there to be killed. Edmund and the witch, her men, went on a cold journey. While they were running in the cold snow, the squirrel family and the old dog fox were eating at the table. When the witch saw it, she asked who she had received it from, and when them answered, she immediately turned them into stone. Edmund felt sorry. And when the journey continued, the witch's company finally knew that spring had come.

WINTER

The reason why I chose this picture is because I think the darkness of controlling Narnia with the evil power of the witch was well expressed, so I used this picture. Because I can feel the scary atmosphere in the picture.

WITHC’S WINTER

In this novel, the symbol of winter means domination and death. Because the witch's magic makes Narnia winter and rules. It is also because it is ruled by a very cruel force that turns its existence into stone if it does not listen to the witch. “seated round a stone table on which there were stone plates and a stone plum pudding.(Lewis 67)”

SPRING

This photo was chosen to express the coming of spring due to Aslan's appearance.

ASLAN’S SPRIGN

Aslan's symbol of spring means liberation, life. The weakening of the witch's magic and melting of the snow are evidence of spring and the weakening of the witch's magic with Aslan's appearance. The weakening of the witch's magic is the release of Narnia's control, and it has this symbol because Aslan is a figure of liberation from control. “If he gritted his teeth, winter would meet the death, and if he shook his mane, we would welcome spring again. (Lewis 47)

ANALYSIS

Changing from winter to spring means that peace comes to Narnia. The witch's magic turned it into winter, and Narnia was ruled by it. However, with Aslan's appearance, the snow gradually melted and the Father Christmas appeared. This simply means that the witch's magic weakens and turns into spring, and Narnia's peace is coming closer. The atmosphere that magically stone other beings is also winter, but if that atmosphere changes, the atmosphere will never be there again.
