Health South Africa and Egypt are two very different countries especially health wise. They do; however, have a lot of similar diseases, such as bacterial diarrhea, hepatitis A and typhoid fever. Also, these countries both have an intermediate degree of risk. One difference between the health in these countries is the infant mortality rate is almost doubled in South Africa compared to Egypt. Another difference is only 49.56 years and in Egypt it's 73.45 years! The final difference in health is really huge. There are only 6,500 people living with HIV/Aids in Egypt and 6,070,800, that's almost 944 times more!
In the countries Egypt and South Africa, the health conditions could definitely be improved. One big problem in South Africa is HIV/ AIDS. There are 6,070,800 people living with this disease there. One thing they could do to try to improve this is be more aware of it. If they are more educated about this disease, they will definitely be more careful. Another problem in South Africa is the life expectancy. Egypt has a very good life expectancy which is only a little less than the United States but South Africa has a shockingly low life expectancy. One way to improve this is to have more hospitals and use their money to fund better healthcare. In Egypt, they need to improve their healthcare too, but the need for it is not as bad as it is in South Africa.
Culture and Traditions: Ethnic groups: In Egypt, nearly everyones ethnicity is Egyptian. 99.6% to be exact. In South Africa, there are many more than just one ethnic groups. About 89.2% of people are black African, 8.9% are white, and 2.5% are Indian. These statistics showing much diversity.
Culture and Traditions: Religions: In Egypt there are 2 main religions, Muslim (90%) and Christian (10%). South Africa has 3 main religions, Protestant (36.6%), Catholic, (7.1%), and Muslim (1.5%).
Culture and Traditions: Languages: Egypts official language is Arabic. Their unofficial languages include, English, and French, which are both widely understood languages among the people. In South Africa approximately 22.7% of people speak Izizulu, 16% speak Izixhosa and 9.3% speak English.
Education: First of all, I was extremely shocked at the rates among these countries and how high they were. I can tell both Egypt and South Africa are very advanced in comparison to other African countries. South Africa has a literacy rate of a shocking 93% and Egypt at 73.9%. These statistics showing the what percentage of people can read and write. I can conclude that both these places are probably so advanced due to many factors. For example, their resources. Because these countries have such great resources, you can infer that the schools will have great resources, too. When I say resources, I am talking about things like, better school materials, such as pencils, paper, books and possibly computers. Having many resources can show an increase in job opportunities, causing more people to want to come to get jobs, in which they will then be earning more revenue for the government, which will then supply the schools with better resources.
Education: Literacy rates impact on its people: Having a higher, and or better literacy rate than other countries can make a really good impact on your country. It makes people from less fortunate countries and or places want to come to your country. If you live in South Africa, well, they have a very high literacy rate. Because they have such a good literacy rate, then you will want to stay there.
Government and Economy: South Africa and Egypt both have a republic government. This improves their quality of life because in a republic, you get the right to vote and a lot of freedom. Another factor that affects the quality of life is GDP. In South Africa, the GDP is only $6,500. In South Africa it is $11,500. Though south Africa's GDP is higher, 31.3% of their population is below the poverty line. This is almost 10% more than Egypt. From this we can conclude that some parts of South Africa are wealthy, and some parts are very poor. In Egypt, they are all mostly in the middle class. This would affect the quality of life because you will be stressed if you don't have enough money.
