POSITIVE IMPACT

  • Can help people who are isolated and marginalised
  • Can help to find personality

ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION

  • Comparing yourself to others can be sure path to anxiety
  • Social media can cause psychological stress.

CYBER Bullying

  • Social media means that you can bully anonymously.
  • You may cyber bully without even realising.

FOMO

  • FOMO means Fear Of Missing Out.
  • FOMO can be caused when you feel you are missing out on a positive experience.

NEGATIVE BODY IMAGE

  • Body image is how people see them selves, negative body image is when you have an unrealistic view of your body.
  • This is seen most commonly in girls and young women.

UNHEALTHY SLEEP PATTERNS

  • Teenagers should sleep for 8-10 hours each day.
  • Only 15% of teenagers sleep for the recommended time each year.
  • Sleep is important for full brain function

UNREALISTIC Expectations

  • Unrealistic expectations are when you have an idea or vision but do not recognise the truth about the situation or the difficulties that may occur.

GENERAL ADDICTION TO A SMARTPHONE/DEVICE

  • Being addicted to a smart device can mean that schoolwork can decline and that you will miss out on opportunities with friends and family.
