1ST MAJOR DEFECT IN THE ELECTORAL COLLAGE

1ST CAUSE

• There is a danger that the winner of the popular vote will not win the presidency
• This has happened four times most recently happened in 2000

2ND CAUSE

• The constitution does not require for the electors to vote for the candidate who wins the popular vote
• This has happened 11 times, non of these action changed the outcome of the election
