Which Impacted the most?

  • I think that the Vietnam war had the biggest effect during the cold war because it lasted more than twenty years which means that we lost a lot of lives and soldiers. More than half a million americans were serving in Vietnam. Also in the mix the U.S was supporting South Vietnam while the USSR and China were supporting North Vietnam which did create more tension between those nations. The U.S used the Domino Theroy as well when they said if they could fight North Vietnam and win the rest of the communist nations would fall as well. Even though the U.S had to start pulling troops out of vietnam by the 1970's it was a long war. When the U.S left South Vietnam, they lost to North Vietnam three years later.
