• Director is appointed by the president
• President gives their national drug control strategy to Congress annually
• There are more than 50 federal agencies that participate in the war on drugs

COUNCIL OF ECONOMIC ADVISERS

• 3 economists are chosen by the president with senate approval
• They are the executive branches main source of information on the nation's economy
• They also prepare the annual Economic Report for Congress
