The first part of the poem is the mother telling her son about the hardships she's endured through her life time.

The mother tells her son that despite all the obstacles in her life that seemed hopeless, she learned to never turn her back and run. She learned to face her issues and harsh situations.

The poem ends by the mother reminding her son that life for her and anyone ever will not be perfect and steady process.
