  • Trimester1: Extreme fatigue, tender, swollen breasts, cravings, morning sickness
  • Trimester 2: Back, abdomen, groin, or thigh aches and pains, ankle, feet and face swelling, Carpal tunnel (hand numbing or tingling) syndrome
  • Trimester 3: Hemorrhoids, Tender breasts, which may leak a watery pre-milk called colostrum,

CHANGES: BABY

MONTHS 1-9

  • Month 1: brain and spinal cord has begun to form, major organs begun to form, heart begins to beat, umbilical cord is visible, arms and legs begin to develop
  • Month 2: Baby can make a fist, external sex organs show if your baby is a boy or girl, eyelids close to protect the developing eyes, they will not open again until week 28.

  • Month 3: Skin begins to form and is nearly translucent, intestinal tract develops, baby can suck its thumb
  • Month 4: able to find out sex, baby can open eyes, lungs are still developing

  • Month 5: Baby can now kick, baby is covered by fine, feathery hair called lanugo and a waxy protective coating called vernix, eyebrows, eyelashes, fingernails, and toenails have formed, baby can hear and swallow.
  • Month 6: baby's fingers and toes are visible, baby may respond to sounds by moving or increasing pulse

  • Month 8: Lanugo falls off, lungs are fully developed, starts to move head down, tremendous brain growth occurs
