Scientists must always follow standards and instructions in their laboratory work. These standards form a scientific methodology, also known as a scientific method. The idea of a scientific method is that a scientists always follows a certain series of steps in a specific order.
Here are the steps to a scientific method. First, ask a question (like an unexpected observation or having to do with a desire to extend human knowledge). Next, is making a hypothesis (an educated guess based on this question). Then, is testing the hypothesis with experiments and collecting data. After that, the scientists evaluate their hypothesis ("was my hypothesis correct?"). Last is the conclusion ("This experiment proved....").
1 Thessalonians 5:21 says, "Test everything. Hold on to what is good." Like this verse, in the scientific method, we should test everything and keep what is good.
