FEUDALISM
Political system based on bonds of Loyalty between lords and vassals.

ORDER
The arrangement or disposition of people or things in relation to each other according to a particular sequence, pattern, or method.

MONARCH
A sovereign head of state, especially a king, queen, or emperor.

NOBLES
A person of noble rank or birth.

LORDS
Someone or something having, power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler.

KNIGHTS
In the Middle Ages, a noble warrior who fought on horseback.

MANOR
A unit of land, originally a feudal lordship, consisting of a lord's demesne and lands rented to tenants.

TAX
A compulsory contribution to state revenue, levied by the government on workers' income and business profits or added to the cost of some goods, services, and transactions.

SOCIAL GROUPS
In the social sciences a social group has been defined as two or more people who interact with one another, share similar characteristics, and collectively have a sense of unity. Other theorists disagree however, and are wary of definitions which stress the importance of interdependence or objective similarity.

CATHOLIC CHURCH
A visible society of baptized Christians professing the same faith under the authority of the invisible head (Christ) and the authority of the visible head (the pope and the bishops in communion with him).

CASTLES
Castle definition, a fortified, usually walled residence, as of a prince or noble.

KINGDOMS
A country whose ruler is a king or queen.

REGIONS
A part of the earth's surface (land or sea) of considerable and usually indefinite extent: a tropical region.

WARLORD
A military commander exercising civil power in a region, whether in nominal allegiance to the national government or in defiance of it.

CHARLEMAGNE
Charlemagne also known as Charles the Great (Latin: Carolus or Karolus Magnus) or Charles I, was King of the Franks. He united most of Western Europe during the early Middle Ages and laid the foundations for modern France and Germany.

AGRICULTURE
The cultivating of the soil, producing of crops, and raising of livestock.

POPE
A prelate who as bishop of Rome is the head of the Roman Catholic Church.

MANORIAL SYSTEM
The manorial system, or seignorial system, was an economic and social system of medieval Europe. All legal and economic power belonged to the lord of the manor, who was supported economically from his land and from contributions from the peasant population under his authority.

FIEF
A fief (Latin: feudum) was the central element of feudalism and consisted of heritable property or rights granted by an overlord to a vassal who held it in fealty (or "in fee") in return for a form of feudal allegiance and service, usually given by the personal ceremonies of homage and fealty.
