Classical Music

What we call classical music is actually a bunch of different kinds of music that came from roughly the same place for a period of about 300 years.

But that's crazy! When we call Beethoven the same kind of composer as Bach, we are really just saying they made music a long time ago with similar instruments.

You know who else uses the same instruments? Taylor Swift and Five Finger Death Punch.

Baroque:
1600-1750

About Baroque

• No piano!
• Lots and lots of little tiny details
• Inventing a style, so no patterns to base it off of.
• J.S. Bach

Classical:
1750-1820

About Classical

• Should be calming, and easy to follow.
• No fancy details, just simple melody.
• Lots of instrumentals.
• Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Romantic:
1820-1910?

About Romantic

• So. Dramatic.
• More instruments! Louder! BIGGER!
• Bending musical rules.
• Ghost stories.
• Richard Wagner
