Psalm 2

Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,

9 You shall break[b] them with a rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.”

10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

“Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us. He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying,

“As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.

You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.” Now therefore, O kings, be
be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.

Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

Revelation 12:12

Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”

Matthew 24:1-8

24 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”

3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Apostle Paul

Swindoll's version - Paul--the murderer of Christians who became a martyr. His life was far from ordinary. In Paul: A Man of Grace and Grit Charles Swindoll looks at the life and spirituality of this most influential apostle. He explores how Paul was uniquely qualified to preach the Gospel, because he understood the extraordinary power of grace. As you come closer to understanding his amazing life, you'll also get a better picture of our passionate and gracious God.

John Piper - John Piper, a best-selling author and popular pastor who has preached to thousands around the world, claims no person other than Jesus Christ himself has had a greater impact on his life than the apostle Paul. In this book, Piper reflects on the ministry of this famous persecutor-turned-missionary, drawing on the six decades he has spent “getting to know” Paul through the New Testament, which records his conversion, missionary journeys, and 13 letters he penned to churches throughout the ancient world. Offering readers 30 reasons why he loves the apostle Paul, this book of short meditations on the wonder of the gospel, perseverance through suffering, love for unbelievers, and God's work through weakness will encourage readers to imitate Paul’s example of unwavering confidence in God's grace and love toward others.

NT Wright - For centuries Paul has been one of the church's most widely cited saints due to his influence regarding the formation of Christian theology that has changed the world. However, in this compelling modern biography, N.T. Wright devotes his attention to the all too often overlooked essence of Paul’s life itself – specifically illuminating the human and intellectual drama that shaped him – and the unlikelihood of what he accomplished. Wright insists that without a proper understanding of Paul’s Jewish heritage, our understanding of Paul and his accomplishments are impaired. Paul: A Biography provides an accessible look at the man himself, allowing for greater clarity when it comes to Paul’s thoughts and writings, and enabling us to see the man and his theology in a fresh new light.

Hang on....

till the end
UNTIL THEN......is real

Everytime I stand by the grave side.....I read 1 Thess 4:13-18

and Revelation 21:1-4....but until then.......

How to hang in there until then....

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Galatians 6:9

New International Version
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Hebrews 12:3

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

James 1:12
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Revelation 2:3 church at Ephesus....persevered

3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

Revelation 6:9-11 9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” 11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.

Revelation 13:10
“If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword they will be killed.” This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.

Revelation 22:20-21 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Because He Lives - I can face tomorrow

Revelation 14:12
This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.
