People with a fixed mindset

  • feel judged and permanently labeled by rejection
  • focus on REVENGE as a means to handle rejection

Those with a growth mindset

  • Rejection is about understanding, forgiveness, and moving on
  • They wouldn't consider revenge; they just want to learn from the experience

  • The expectation is that all good things must come immediately
  • If it's right it happens automatically

  • a good relationship grows out of effort and work over time

Fixed mindset people

  • have a tendency to be shy
  • are concerned about judgment
  • are more self-conscious and anxious
  • are more worried about making mistakes

  • can also be shy, but their shyness does not harm their social relations
  • shy growth mindset people see social situations as challenges
  • they can overcome their shyness and create new relationships

Fixed mindset students

  • tend to bully others
  • tend to be judgmental
  • tend to pick on other fixed mindset students
  • tend to think about violent revenge if they are the victim

  • are not as likely to see the actions of a bully as a reflection of who they are
  • see it as a psychological flaw of the bully
  • feel sympathy for the bully and the problems they must have
