THE TIMELINE

• Early 1900's: Tesla thought of the "world wireless system."
• 1930-1940: Otlet & Bush created the idea of searchable items in wireless technology.
• Early 1960's: Licklider created the idea of global networking.
• Early 1960's: computer scientists developed idea of packet-switching. An idea that without, we wouldn't have the Internet we have today.

THE TIMELINE (CONTINUED)

• Late 1960's: First original Internet prototype with ARPANET. (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network)
• 1970's: TCP/IP invented by Robert Kahn & Vinton Cerf
• 1990: Tim Berners-Lee invents "World Wide Web"

And finally, in 1969, the Internet was created as a prototype by its many many inventors. Although there are too many to be named, the most known inventors were Robert E. Kahn and Vint Cerf. They are known for their work with sending information across different devices. Although this was a prototype, the actual "World Wide Web" was not created until 1990.

• 1994 - Commercialization Begins
• 1996 - Microsoft Enters
• Apple, Google, Wikipedia and other companies were founded.
