  • Italian mathematician and philosopher, a child prodigy.
  • Namesake of the Witch of Agnesi curve. 
  • Died on 9 January 1799.

Early Life

  • Give an hour-long speech about women's right.
  • Suffered a mysterious illness at the age of 12.
  • Study ballistics and geometry at the age of 14.
  • Studied both differential and calculus.

Later Life

  • The chair of mathematics and natural philosophy and physics.
  • She was the second women ever to be granted professorship at a university.
  • In 1751, she was told by her doctor not to study by her doctor.
  • In 1783, she founded and became the director of the Opera Pia Trivulzio.

  • Her father remarried twice after her mother died.
