The Proclamation of 1763

  • Colonist and the Indians were trying to kill each other
  • George III drew a line that went through the Appalachian Mt. 
  • People didn't listen so the British government expanded British ary to 7,5 
-Colonists and the Native Americans were trying to kill each other.

-Since people didn't listen the British government enforced the law by expanding the the British army to 7,500 men

the stamp act

  • The British government had to pay off the dept left from the French and Indiaand Indian War
  • The British government decided to start taxing the Americans  
  • This act required to buy a stamp for every pice of paper someone bought 
-The British government had to pay off the debt left from the French and Indiac
-The leader of British government decided to start taxing the Americans since they are the most lightly taxed people in the British Empire.
-Grenville planed a new act and this act required to buy a stamp for every piece of paper, newspaper, licenses and also playing card.

  • The Parliament ordered colonial assemblies to provide soldiers with housing.   
  • Colonists had to provide soldiers with bedding, cooking, utensils and etc 
  • All the the things that the colonist had to provide the soldiers costed money

  • The colonists had to pay for the army
  • The new law placed a tax on certain goods 
  • Some of the things that the colonists had been taxed were glass, paint, and tea

  • A fight broke between soldiers and the colonists 
  • Five Bostonians were dead and ten were injured
  • Bostonias made fun of the soldiers by calling them lobsters backs
