Why do teens do drugs?

Teens do drugs because
it takes stress off of them
they can't take the pressure
so they do drugs to take
their minds off of it. The
problem with that is that
you end up feeling worse
than you originally did.
So is it worth it to do drugs for
maybe 2 hours of relief?

Another reason that teens do drugs is because the media doesn't convey drugs as anything bad. There are movies and TV shows that make it seem like doing drugs is okay. In a lot of movies and TV shows they smoke weed, drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, snort cocaine, make meth, and they do a lot more. Teenagers see these things and think that doing drugs can't be that bad. Teenagers shouldn't trust the media because you can't trust anything out there. The media makes things either seem way worse than they are or not bad at all when things are terrible, and teenagers see these things and believe them.

A very big reason teens
do drugs is because
they think it makes them
cool. They think that they
are all it and that they are
cool rule breakers, when
in fact, there is nothing
cool about doing drugs.
Doing drugs will not get
you anywhere in life. What
is cool is doing what you
are supposed to do and
getting good grades.

Teens also do drugs
because they are
simply bored they
have nothing to do
and drugs are exciting.
They cannot tolerate
being alone and doing
drugs fill the empty space
in their life. There are so
many reasons why not to
do drugs because you are
bored. You can read a book,
go outside, play a sport, just
do not do drugs.

Teens often start drugs because they feel pressured to do so, and they think their friends wouldn't liked them if they say no to drugs. It is better to refuse to drugs because if your friends are going to not like you because you refused drugs then are they really your friends?
