A hurricane is a huge storm. The storm travels over open ocean. A hurricane can be 600 miles across. Hurricanes spiral inward and upward at speeds of 75 to 200 mph.
A hurricane needs, warm water above 80 degrees Fahrenheit, winds that come together to push air upward, winds that flow outward above the storm, humid air, and light winds.
Radar- A system for detecting the presence, direction, distance, and speed of aircraft, ships, and other objects, by sending out pulses of high-frequency electromagnetic waves that are reflected off the object back to the source.
Satellite- An artificial body placed in orbit around the earth or moon or another planet in order to collect information or for communication.
Hurricane- A storm with a violent wind, in particular a tropical cyclone in the Caribbean.
