  • Essex
  • Pink and black
  • Domestic pig
  • deliberately "improved" in the mid 19th century by crossing it with imported pigs
  • remained locally popular until as recently as the mid-1950s
  • increased in numbers during the Second World War

SHEEP

  • Montadale
  • White
  • Domestic sheep breed
  • considered a dual-purpose breed
  • They were created by a Midwestern commercial lamb buyer who had a dream of developing the ideal sheep
  • They were first imported to Canada in 1960.

HORSE

  • Spotted saddle horse
  • Black, white and brown
  • Used in the show ring or trail riding
  • They have a Spanish ancestry
  • Originally developed in Tennessee
  • Was supposed to be a family horse

  • Domestic chicken
  • It was bred at the beginning of the 20th century
  • The eggs were originally exported for the commercial egg trade where they were an instant hit
  • The breed was added to the British Standard in 1930
