• Residents in the countryside had a fire
• The fire was caused by a shale power drill, drilling for more shale
• Residents had to leave quickly

WHAT'S SHALE GAS?

• Shale gas is a natural gas found in shale
• In 2010 it was 20% of the US's natural gas
• China produces the most in the entire world
• It is used to heat houses, heat water, dry clothes, and cook food

HOW THIS AFFECTS CHINA

• This could endanger other residents
• Increases their natural gas
• Helps their economy
• Increase trade (for othet resources)
• Bad for the environment

• Increases the amount of shale gas we can buy/trade

STARVATION IN SOUTH SUDAN

STARVATION

• South Sudan needs $230 million dollars in the next 60 days
• They are facing the worst starvation since 1980s
• About 3.7 million people already face severe starvation (there)
• Really bad for economy

HOW THIS AFFECTS SUDAN

• This is really bad for the economy
• People will get stuck in poverty
• Prices on food will go up; poverty
• Major population drop
• Increased disease

• Americans will want to help ($)
• This will raise awearnesss to starvation & poverty

SUDANESE REFUGEE PROBLEM

SUDAN REFUGEES

• 100,000 sudanese refugees have no where to go
• They have to walk at night, risking raiders
• Refugees have had houses burnt down, and family killed by soldiers

HOW THIS AFFECTS SUDAN

• Sudan is divided; and failing
• This could add on to the poverty, and probably did
• This could make the economy worse

HOW THIS AFFECTS AMERICA

• The US could be an ally (help them)
• The taxes would raise for the soldiers & military
• Raise awareness for refugees, and Americans might want to help
