Symbiotic Relationships

No Description

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

CLOWNFISH-CILIATED PROTOZOAN

  • Mutualism:symbiosis that is beneficial to both organisms involved
  • Clownfish are found in the Pacific ocean while ciliated protozoans are in fresh and salt water.

CLOWNFISH-CILIATED PROTOZOANS

  • Clownfish get their energy from sea anemone, but ciliated protozoans get their energy through endocytosis.
  • Clownfish are the host for ciliated protozoans

TAPEWORM-MANTA RAY

  • Parasitism: a relationship between two things in which one of them benefits the other one.
  • Tapeworms are found in Eastern Europe or South America while the Manta Ray is in subtropical and tropical waters.

TAPEWORM-MANTA RAY

  • Tapeworms get their energy from eggs while manta rays get theirs from plankton.
  • The Manta ray is the host for a tapeworm.

GROUPERS-MONOGEAN WORM

  • Parasitism:a symbiotic relationship that benefits one species and harms the other
  • Grouper are found in the atlantic ocean while the monogean worm are found in the skin, gills, or fins of fish.

GROUPER-MONOGEAN WORMS

  • Groupers get their energy from other fish, but monogean worms get their energy from epithelial.
  • Groupers are the host for monogean worms.
