FAITHFULLNESS OF A MOTHER

“Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre and Sidon. A Gentile woman who lived there came to him, pleading, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.””

“But Jesus gave her no reply, not even a word. Then his disciples urged him to send her away. “Tell her to go away,” they said. “She is bothering us with all her begging.” Then Jesus said to the woman, “I was sent only to help God’s lost sheep—the people of Israel.””

“But she came and worshiped him, pleading again, “Lord, help me!” Jesus responded, “It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.””

““Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed.”

I. FAITHFUL MOTHER FIND HER STRENGTH IN THE LORD-v. 22

II. FAITHFUL MOTHER PRAYS EARNESTLY FOR HER CHILDREN
v. 23
“But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.””

III. FAITHFUL MOTHER KNOWS HOW TO WORSHIP GOD - 24-25
“But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!””

IV. FAITHFUL MOTHER IS SATISFIED WITH GOD’s PROVISION-v.26-27
“But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.””

V. FAITHFUL MOTHER BRINGS GOD’S BLESSING TO HER FAMILY-v. 28
“Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”
