2.
ATOMISM
The earliest mention of the concept of the atom traces back to India in the 6th century BCE.
This advanced science because they discovered the idea of the atom and helped future researchers study them.
We have built upon this by researching atoms further and getting more precise and exact.
This affects us because without it we wouldn't understand what things were made of.

3.
CARBON PIGMENT
It was made in the 4th century BCE.
It was used with Indian ink.
This advanced science by creating a way for people to make dyes and change the color of certain items.
We have built upon this by getting more efficient at making dyes and by getting more/better colors.
This affects us because we use dyes all the time in things like clothes.

PLASTIC SURGERY
Treatments of plastic repair of a broken nose are mentioned in India.
One of the first medical procedures dates back to around 3000 to 2500 BCE.
This advanced science by showing how you can alter parts of the body using a procedure.
We built upon it by getting better at the procedures and being able to do different procedures for different parts of the body.
This affects us because if you ever get in an accident then they can still operate on you to make you look like the accident never happened.

COTTON CULTIVATION
Indians started cultivating cotton around the 4th-5th millennium BCE.
It advanced science by allowing people to harvest cotton and make different things made of cloth out of the cotton.
We built upon it by being able to making clothes more comfortable.
This affects us because we wear clothes and before you can make cotton clothes you need to harvest the cotton.

6.
RULER
Rulers made from Ivory were discovered in western India and they date back to 1500 BCE.
This advanced science by allowing scientists to measure things in their research.
We built upon it by being able to measure things with a more accurate measurement.
This affects us because we still use rulers to measure things.

CATARACT SURGERY
The first procedure was done in the 6th century BCE by Indian physician Sushruta.
This advanced science by allowing people to fix the cloudiness in your eye and being able to see again.
We have built upon it by making the procedure better, allowing it to be more effective.
This affects us because if you have this problem in your eyes then you can get it fixed.

RADIO/WIRELESS COMMUNICATION
The first demonstration was by Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose in 1895.
This advanced science by allowing people to have technology communicate wirelessly.
We have built upon this by making the wireless communication faster and more efficient.
This affects us today because we use wireless communication in our every day lives.

9.
INK
Ink was first used in India in the 4th century BCE.
This advanced science by allowing a way to write easily.
We built upon this by being able to print paper documents with ink on it, and by being able to mass produce it.
This affects us because people still use ink in pens to write.
