WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT SUFFERING?
1. Suffering can bring us closer to God
When things go great in our lives it's easy to start relying on earthly things instead of God. I believe God brings suffering upon us so he can bring back that one on one closeness with him. While suffering, we have the opportunity to pour out our hearts to him and restart a relationship we lost when things were going all right.
2. Suffering gives us the opportunity to trust God.
When we suffer, it's very easy to push away God because of the hurt it seems he's putting upon us. But God doesn't hurt us to harm us, it's always for our good. Romans 8:28 says: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him..." Even if we don't see it at first, God will bring out the best in the worst situation.
3. SUFFERING IS A CHALLENGE TO BRING OUT GOOD CHARACTER
Pain and suffering strengthens us in different ways. One thing it can bring out in us is good character. Suffering can break us apart which gives us the chance to re-build ourselves with a better character from a new perspective.
