WATER POLLUTION

  • Wastes water needed for drinking, cooking, bathing, and aquatic life
  • point source means the pollution enters water at a specific place
  • Non-point source means that it diffuses from numerous areas
  • Point source is smaller and is easier to control than nonpoint source pollution
  • Organic waste consumes oxygen needed by wild life

SOLID WASTE POLLUTION

  • Waste in landfills is the most common type
  • Incineration is a possible alternative
  • Incineration creates energy and reduces bulk
  • Mining operations gave off the most pollutants
  • Disposal of waste is difficult to do

AIR POLLUTION

  • Its a concentration of harmful substances in the atmosphere
  • Damages property, plants, and causes health issues for people and animals
  • Comes from factories power plants, and vehicles
  • Burning coal is the primary source and cars emit toxins too.
  • Contributes to to global warming and potentially harms the ozene layer.
