FLOODS
A flood is an overflowing of a large amount of water beyond its normal confines, especially over land that is normally dry .

Two types of floods are flash floods and overland flooding .

Flash floods occur within minutes or hours of excessive rainfall.
Overland flooding occurs when waterways such as rivers or streams overflow their banks .

AFFECTs

  • Killing animals, and people
  • Roads, bridges, farms, houses, and automobiles are destroyed
  • Distorts the natural balance of an ecosystem
