Library Instruction Program

  • Offered for all disciplines and class levels
  • Can be tailored to specific assignments or address specific goals
  • Can be joint presentations with someone from the Writing Lab (these visits are especially helpful for classes that are designated WI )
We can cover skills such as evaluating sources, distinguishing between popular and scholarly sources, and many other skills related to the steps of the research process.

  • Tradtional library instruction (15, 30, 50 min.)
  • Guided instruction (research working session with a librarian in the room)
  • 5 minute "meet and greet"
  • Individual research paper consultations (take place outside of class time, can be in-person or via Zoom

Library Instruction for Hybrid/Online Courses

  • "Real time" library instruction via Zoom (can be recorded)
  • Individual research paper consultations (via Zoom)
  • Library instruction in Canvas (links to library website and contact information, discussion board monitored by a librarian, links to video tutorials)
The introductory session can provide your students with a brief overview of library services as well as the library website.

Videos can be uploaded into Canvas.

Librarians can provide live instruction for online students through tools like Zoom.
